About Keya Cosmetics

Keya Cosmetics Limited stands as one of the most recognized household names in the Bangladeshi fast-moving consumer goods sector. Established in 1996 by founder Abdul Khaleque Pathan, the company began its journey in a modest manufacturing facility and officially entered commercial production in 1997. Over the following decades, it successfully transitioned from a specialized soap producer into a multi-sector conglomerate known as Keya Group, diversifying its operations into textiles, knitwear, and agro-processing while maintaining a dominant presence in the local personal care market. The brand's identity is built upon a diverse portfolio of affordable personal care and household cleaning products that cater to a wide demographic across Bangladesh. Its flagship items, such as the Keya Super Beauty Soap and Keya Glycerin Laundry Soap, became staples in millions of homes. Beyond soaps, the company expanded into oral care with specialized toothpastes, skincare products like petroleum jelly and prickly heat powder, and a range of hair care and detergent options. This strategic focus on "value-for-money" products allowed Keya to compete effectively with multinational corporations by capturing the mass market. In terms of corporate evolution, Keya Cosmetics became a public limited company in 2001, listing on both the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges. To consolidate its market power and streamline its supply chain, the company merged with its sister concerns, including Keya Detergent and Keya Soap Chemicals, in the early 2010s. This period of rapid growth also saw the group become a major player in the textile industry, establishing large-scale export-oriented units like Keya Cotton Mills and Keya Knit Composite, which significantly boosted the company’s overall valuation. However, the period between 2024 and early 2026 has been marked by significant structural changes and operational challenges. Facing mounting debt, raw material shortages, and market volatility,
