Marie Stopes Bangladesh (MSB) is a prominent non-governmental organization and a key partner of the Government of Bangladesh in the National Family Planning Programme. Established in 1988, the organization is part of the global MSI Reproductive Choices network and has spent over three decades providing sexual and reproductive healthcare. It operates with a "social business" model, aiming to provide high-quality, affordable, and client-centered services to millions of individuals annually, with a particular focus on underserved and hard-to-reach communities. The organization’s service delivery network is extensive, utilizing around 242 outlets across 46 districts. This includes approximately 40 static clinics located in major urban areas, such as the premium maternity center in Dhanmondi and several clinics across Dhaka, Comilla, and Rangpur. To reach those in remote areas, MSB deploys mobile outreach teams consisting of doctors and paramedics who travel to rural locations. They also maintain a dedicated call center and use social marketing to ensure that reproductive health products are accessible at convenient locations nationwide. The healthcare services provided by Marie Stopes Bangladesh cover a broad spectrum of maternal and reproductive needs. These include comprehensive contraception and family planning—offering everything from long-term implants and IUDs to permanent methods like vasectomies and tubal ligations—as well as menstrual regulation and aftercare. Additionally, the clinics provide maternity services including antenatal and postnatal care, general health consultations, vaccinations, and specialized screenings for cervical cancer and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
